What Happens in a Free Trial Martial Arts Session?
A free trial session is designed to help you feel comfortable, informed, and confident about whether martial arts is right for you — without pressure or expectation.
It’s a chance to experience the class properly, not a test or assessment.
A Warm, Calm Introduction
At Absolute Martial Arts, free trial sessions for teens and adults in Carshalton, Caterham, Ewell, North Cheam, and Redhill start with a friendly welcome.
You can expect:
• A brief introduction from the coach
• Clear explanations of how the class works
• Time to ask questions if you want to
There’s no spotlight and no pressure to speak in front of the group.
Training at Your Own Pace
During the session, you’ll:
• Take part in a structured warm-up
• Learn some basic movements or techniques
• Train alongside others in a supportive way
Everything is coached step by step, and you’re encouraged to work at a pace that feels right for you.
No Experience Required
Free trials are built with beginners in mind.
You won’t be expected to:
• Know any techniques
• Be particularly fit
• Spar or fight
• Push beyond your comfort level
The goal is understanding and experience — not performance.
Coaches Are There to Support You
Throughout the session, coaches will:
• Offer guidance and encouragement
• Check in quietly if needed
• Make adjustments for injuries or nerves
You’re supported without being singled out.
No Pressure to Join
After the class:
• You’ll have a chance to ask any questions
• Next steps will be explained clearly
• You decide whether you’d like to continue
There’s no obligation to sign up on the day.
A Chance to See If It Feels Right
Most people leave a trial session thinking:
“That was far more welcoming and enjoyable than I expected.”
That’s exactly the point.
