Absolute Martial Arts Athletes Selected for the WKC World Championships in Spain

At Absolute Martial Arts, we’re incredibly proud to announce that 12 members of our team have been selected to represent their country at the prestigious WKC World Championships in Cadiz, Spain this October.

For students, parents, and supporters across Redhill, Caterham, Carshalton, North Cheam, Ewell and the surrounding Surrey area, this is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the dedication, discipline, and hard work shown by our athletes throughout the year.

Representing England on the World Stage

The World Kickboxing Council (WKC) World Championships is one of the biggest events in the martial arts calendar, bringing together thousands of competitors from countries across the globe.

Athletes spend months preparing for the opportunity to compete against the very best fighters in their age and weight categories, making selection for Team England a huge honour.

This year, Absolute Martial Arts will be proudly represented by:

  • Ivan Manchov
  • Craig Harrington
  • Caitlin Downes
  • Jesse-Taylor Edmunds
  • Rachel Harrington
  • Stephen Searle
  • Vesco Manchov
  • Keira Moloney
  • Brandon Hall
  • Peach Casey
  • Libbie Oldfield
  • Maisy Cramer

Each athlete has earned their place through commitment, perseverance, and outstanding performances in national competition.

More Than Medals

While winning medals is always exciting, competing at a World Championship teaches lessons that go far beyond the competition area.

Preparing for an international event develops:

  • Confidence under pressure
  • Discipline and self-control
  • Goal setting and focus
  • Resilience in challenging situations
  • Respect for competitors from around the world
  • Pride in representing your country

These are the same life skills we aim to develop in every student who trains at Absolute Martial Arts, whether they compete internationally or simply attend classes to improve their confidence and fitness.

From Surrey to Spain

Many people are surprised to discover that world-class athletes can come from local martial arts schools.

Our students train weekly across our locations in Redhill, Caterham, Carshalton, North Cheam and Ewell, with many balancing school, work, family life and other commitments alongside their training.

The journey from beginner to World Championship competitor doesn’t happen overnight. It is built through consistent attendance, determination, and a willingness to keep improving week after week.

Several members of our current World Championship team first walked through our doors as complete beginners.

Building Champions and Great People

At Absolute Martial Arts, our goal has never been simply to produce champions.

We believe martial arts should help people become stronger, more confident, more resilient versions of themselves.

For some students, that journey leads to representing England at a World Championships.

For others, it means overcoming nerves, making new friends, improving fitness, or developing confidence at school and work.

Every achievement matters.

Supporting Our Team

As October approaches, our athletes will continue their preparations for Cadiz with extra training sessions, sparring, fitness work and technical practice.

We know they will represent both Team England and Absolute Martial Arts with pride, professionalism and sportsmanship.

We would like to congratulate Ivan, Craig, Caitlin, Jesse, Rachel, Steve, Vesco, Keira, Brandon, Peach, Libbie and Maisy on their selection and wish them the very best as they prepare for the WKC World Championships in Spain.

The entire Absolute Martial Arts community is behind you.
